Prodigiosum 536 & 1582

In 536 AD, a mysterious haze, now linked to a massive volcanic eruption, spread across Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. For roughly 18 months, the sun's light was dramatically weakened.

The sun looked as if it were stuck in a solar eclipse and provided little warmth. Without direct sunlight, crops died, and temperatures fell dramatically, causing freezing in the middle of summer. The sunlight was so weak, it didn’t even cast shadows during the day.

Societies collapsed into chaos, and according to Harvard anthropologists, it was one of the worst years for humans to be alive.

In 1582, Pope Gregory XIII transitioned society from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, thus skipping 10 whole days.

People went to bed October the 4th, and they woke up October 15th.

My only question is, did they get PTO?
